The Kpop world was shocked, confused, and dismayed when girl group 4Minute suddenly disbanded after seven years. On June 13, the group announced that they were done. At that point, only HYUNA had resigned with their agency, Cube Entertainment. People wondered if the other members would stay on, though most speculated they would not.

On June 16, Cube revealed that the other members of the group had let their contracts lapse two days before.

It’s just over two weeks later, and HYUNA isn’t letting the situation get her down. She has just announced her solo comeback, and she’s set the date for her return for later this summer. She’s gathering material and plans to have an album out in August.

It will be interesting to see where the ladies of 4Minute land, and to see if they move on as individuals or as a unit. In the meantime, we can look forward to HYUNA keeping the beat going on her own. August can’t come soon enough.
